Kennerley is a non-aligned, not for profit organisation, serving the Southern Tasmanian community. For over 150 years, Kennerley has provided programs, services and activities focussed on the support of vulnerable Tasmanian children, young people and their families. Our suite of services includes the Family based foster care program, the Community and Respite program, the Moving on program, the Informal Kinship care respite program and the Family Connections program. Position Summary
We have an opportunity available in a new position, created in response to organisational growth. As our client liaison administrator, you will be the first point of contact for Kennerley. As a dynamic administrator you will be providing a client focussed first point of contact to our stakeholders; directing these to our team of therapeutic care co-ordinators, Leadership Team and community stakeholders in a professional community-oriented way. You will support key operational processes including:-
- scheduling of activities, appointments and key organisational processes
- monitor compliance
- maintaining strong relationships with key services including the Department of Education, Children and Young People and other out of home care providers
- maintenance of databases and associated programs, processes, and procedures
Your role will balance multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently and effectively. Your support of a multidisciplinary team enables timely and positive outcomes for Tasmania’s most vulnerable children and their families.
You actively seek ways to balance multiple priorities through regular engagement with your line manager and the leadership team and actively use technology to find better ways of delivering on this key support function

Duties and Responsibilities
The Administrator is responsible for the efficient and accurate completion of assigned duties and tasks to achieve defined outcomes. The administrator will work closely with the Leadership team and Kennerley staff and Board to support defined priorities. This role requires discretion and tenacity in prioritising tasks and managing outcomes within specific time frames.
Duties associated with this position include:
- Provision of administrative assistance to personnel including staff, carers and volunteers, clients and key stakeholders. This includes general communication through handling enquiries or routine investigations into queries and giving advice by telephone and face-to-face, and ensuring this is communicated with the relevant stakeholders
- Using a wide range of software or systems to produce a variety of documents , records and communications to a diverse audience.
- Undertaking general clerical activities including creating, maintaining and managing administrative databases, records in accordance with organisational policy. Actively seeking more time effective ways to complete prioritised activities
- Completing a range of multiple and diverse administrative tasks including basic financial transactions, venue bookings, coordinating events, ordering of office supplies, filing, mailing and drafting of correspondence.
- Supporting the Leadership Team with assigned priorities.
- Supporting the implementation and management of new systems including MS teams and social media platforms, and other programs related to Kennerley’s operations.

Selection Criteria
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise effectively with clients, personnel (including volunteers, carers and young people) at all levels in a warm, sensitive and professional manner.
- Proven administrative and organisational skills, a capacity to work with flexibility and to operate independently within established guidelines, using initiative, discretion and sound judgement
- Demonstrated experience in the efficient and effective use of current office technologies including MS Teams, Office, Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to adapt to new technology and procedures as required.
- Good written skills with the ability to prepare correspondence and documents which are clear, concise , accurate and non-judgemental.
- Proven ability to work as an individual and/or in a team, together with the ability to set priorities and work with minimal direction.
- Sound knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and the ability to maintain Kennerley’s brand and presence in a contemporary and professional manner.
Compulsory Requirements
The applicant must be willing to:
- Complete Kennerley onboarding and induction and safeguarding children training.
- Submit to a National Police check and receive satisfactory results.
- Submit to a National Child Safety check and receive satisfactory results.
- Acquire and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People registration
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant professional experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge and understanding of MS teams.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant social media platforms and the ability to apply this knowledge to manage and maintain Kennerley’s networking presence.
