On 30th June 2020 Kennerley was officially awarded Safeguarding Children Service (SGC) accreditation by the Australian Childhood foundation. This means that anyone working with us whether they are families, contractors, service providers interactions are characterized by our underpinning SGC policy and procedures.
If you want to work for us, volunteer or become a foster carer you will need to undertake induction, complete on line training, commit to safeguarding children through a commitment statement, and, make sure you have a current WWVP card. Our policies require recruitment screening questions so that you understand our expectations by putting children and young peoples safety first.
Child-centred organisations exist because of a strong desire to provide children and young people with opportunities and experiences that enhance childhood and shape their development and growth. As a third party accredited Safeguarding organisation we take seriously our responsibility to keep children and young people safe, nurture their wellbeing because when we do it well, we know that the impacts for children and young people are incredibly positive and meaningful.
When we initially explored our options for accreditation we were not satisfied with a self-audit, we wanted to meet the highest standards possible and so we commissioned a reputable organisation to oversee our accreditation formally – we are grateful to the Australian Childhood Foundation for their guidance and support throughout the process.
